Title: Own Computer
Post by: Legit_Panda on October 24, 2012, 01:38:52 am
I am customising my own computers. I would just like to know key components. Any good websites where I can customise my own Computer.
What's the connection thing called where I can plug my ps3 into my Computer screen?
I kinda flop at customising cos the first time I done it it went to £2500 wnfuigaslfh
I wunna spend about max 400 on the Computer moniter thing and Max 700 with screen mouse etc

You are customising the one you already own? Or doing a custom thing on a website.

I can't stress this any more, BUILD YOUR FUCKING OWN. You get more value for money so you'll have some spare for a monitor. It's not hard it's just some screws and little plugs.

id say 8 would be enough. any more would be daft. but 8 allows ANY game to be smooth

Between 4 and 8 would be best under 4 is not enough and over 8 is a waste.

do not get a integrated graphics card, and make sure you get a quad core proccesor or higher and not 2 crossed dual core processors.

Microsoft wireless keyboard and mice are actually pretty good. But for the best gaming experience I agree on wired. Get at least a QUAD CORE i5. Be sure to check it's not a 'fake' one, aka a dual threaded dual core. Also you can't just say get an i7 because there are some awful i7s. When you hear i7 you think quad core but some of the i7s are dual cores with 4 threads. Some are quad cores with 4 threads(standard). Some are 4 cores with 8 threads ('fake' eight core). Some are 6 cores and 12 threads ('fake' twelve core). Don't instant see quad core i7 and believe it, research the model because it may be the dual core.

Also, good i7s may be exceptionally good but they are way over priced! The good i7s are anywhere from £400-800. If you are looking for cheap but equally as good performance you want an AMD. You can get a REAL EIGHT CORE 3.6ghz, 4.something GHz HYPER SPEED FOR A QUARTER OF THE PRICE OF AN I7, About £230. Don't listen to people saying that say AMD is crap. I had an intel with a gt430 graphics card and I got about 70fps. And it was a 3ghz dual core, so decent. I then got a 3ghz amd athlon II quad core and now I get about 130 fps. 250fps on a flatland world.

I know you mean like buying the parts and then putting them together, but is there a website I can build one to my choice?

32 or 64 bit?
For 4+GB you need 64bit. 32 only supports 4gb and below

I was looking around on the ebuyer website and found a few decent Desktops (I think)
Just lemme know which one is the best? I know you said customise it yourself and all that but can you check. I think the first one is the fastest as it is a 'gaming pc' and has 4.2 ghz
