Of course you're lagging... its laptop with a slow dual core, quad thread processor ("fake" quadcore) with no graphics card. Don't be expecting 70fps. A new processor won't make a big difference unless it was a fast real quadcore, but still you may only get 40fps. A laptop is a no go for gaming unless its a good one. Minecraft don't look graphically intensive but it relies a lot on graphics and cpu power. Defrag wont make any difference it only reduces your hard drives seek time by grouping files together. Disk cleanup only reduces disk space.

Also make sure you have the detail thing on fast not fancy and the other setting thing not on powersaver or balanced but on max fps so there is no fps cap.

And the human eye sees at 27+ fps not 15... why do you think 15 fps still looks laggy and 27+ doesn't... the human eye is capable of about 220 fps. In a test a person could see a light flicker every 220/1 sec but anything over looked like the light appeared not to flicker.

Also open task manager, goto processes click cpu until the process using the most cpu is at the top and close all unnecessary processes.

Also you don't have a virus, if you did norton would of removed it. You wont have some sort of undetectable virus on a standard laptop. They are used on huge companies.
